STATEMENT

The first steps out of a tunnel are disorienting. Your eyes adjusting from dark to light, from near focus to max depth of field, and infinite details, everywhere. Don't forget to look up. Can you see everything? ...not even close. It blurs. Steady movement increases the experience. People are everywhere. These paintings are a collection of observations. A visual free verse constructed from daily notes that are absorbed, then translated into this puzzle. Direct inspiration and raw documentation create this visual stream of consciousness. There are no specific references, just hints of architecture and design. It is an unconventional space, a nontraditional cityscape, capturing the spirit of the crowded metropolis, while dancing down the fine line of control and chaos. The style is referenced as a modified cubism. The structures play with perspective. Changing angles, multiple points of view, if combined with its neighbor, this whole new space iscreated. Evoking the labyrinth of New York City.
